{"id":254046,"date":"2023-02-05T07:03:35","date_gmt":"2023-02-05T07:03:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crik.sa\/english\/?p=254046"},"modified":"2023-02-05T07:03:47","modified_gmt":"2023-02-05T07:03:47","slug":"crik-publishes-new-study-on-the-conquest-of-hispania","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crik.sa\/english\/2023\/02\/05\/crik-publishes-new-study-on-the-conquest-of-hispania\/","title":{"rendered":"CRIK Publishes New Study on the Conquest of Hispania"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Riyadh &#8211; Asharq Al-Awsat<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saudi Arabia\u2019s Center for Research and Intercommunication Knowledge (CRIK) has published a new study entitled \u201cConquest of Hispania\u2026Study of Plan and Military Strategy,\u201d including a piece that criticizes and scrutinizes the theory of Ignacio Olag\u00fce that argues the Arabs did not conquer Andalusia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The study is led by Dr. Saleh bin Mohammed al-Sanidi, professor of history at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU), and former president of the Islamic Center in Granada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The study provides a new viewpoint on the conquest of Andalusia including an argument that disputes the theory of Orientalist Ignacio Olag\u00fce in which he claims that \u201cArabs didn\u2019t conquer Andalusia.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to al-Sanidi, the conquest was the result of many strategies Muslims adopted in their wars and military operations in different fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his theory, Olag\u00fce claims that \u201cthe conquest of Hispania was a peaceful movement that didn\u2019t involve any Islamic troops; it was the result of influence enhanced by dialogue, and mutual ties.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/english.aawsat.com\/home\/article\/3188266\/crik-publishes-new-study-conquest-hispania\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/crik.sa\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/aawsat.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-254047\" width=\"414\" height=\"67\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Riyadh &#8211; Asharq Al-Awsat Saudi Arabia\u2019s Center for Research and Intercommunication Knowledge (CRIK) has published a new study entitled \u201cConquest of Hispania\u2026Study of Plan and Military Strategy,\u201d including a piece that criticizes and scrutinizes the theory of Ignacio Olag\u00fce that argues the Arabs did not conquer Andalusia.
